Which CGM should I buy in India?
Reviewed by the JForH team ·
If you have diabetes, the CGMs with an official Indian MRP are Abbott's FreeStyle Libre 2 Plus (₹5,138 per sensor, up to 15 days, readings to your phone every minute) and the older FreeStyle Libre (₹4,671, 14 days, scan to read). LinX is a 15-day sensor sold in India, but we found no official price list. Ultrahuman M1 is sold for wellness, and its maker says it isn't for managing disease. Dexcom, Stelo, Lingo and Libre 3 have no official Indian launch that we could find.
Which CGM should I buy in India?
For most people with diabetes, the choice comes down to the two Abbott sensors, because they have a published MRP and are sold through Indian pharmacies. LinX is a cheaper option on price trackers. Ultrahuman M1 is a wellness product.
A CGM, or continuous glucose monitor, is the 'sugar testing machine without blood' many people search for. A small sensor sits on the back of your arm and reads sugar under the skin, day and night. You put it on once and leave it for two weeks.
CGM price in India: what does each sensor cost?
| Sensor | Price per sensor | Wear time | How you read it |
|---|---|---|---|
| FreeStyle Libre 2 Plus (Abbott) | ₹5,138 MRP | Up to 15 days | Readings every minute to a compatible phone, optional high and low alarms |
| FreeStyle Libre (Abbott) | ₹4,671 MRP, or ₹8,897 for a 2-pack | 14 days | Scan with a phone or the Libre Reader (₹5,413 MRP) |
| LinX (MicroTech) | About ₹3,450 each in an 8-pack (unverified) | 15 days | Phone app |
| Ultrahuman M1 | About ₹4,100 for one sensor on Amazon (unverified) | Not confirmed | Ultrahuman app, sold for wellness |
The Abbott prices are the MRPs Abbott India published for GST 2.0, effective 22 September 2025, when GST on these sensors fell to 5%. Pharmacy apps often sell below MRP, and prices change, so compare before you buy.
The LinX figure comes from an online price tracker for an 8-pack at about ₹27,592. The Ultrahuman figure comes from a tracker of Amazon listings. Neither company publishes a price list we could check, so treat both as rough.
How much does a CGM cost per month in India?
About ₹10,000 a month at MRP for either Abbott sensor, if you wear one all the time:
- Libre 2 Plus: two 15-day sensors cover 30 days, so ₹10,276 at MRP.
- Libre: a 14-day sensor needs a little more than two per month, about ₹10,000 at MRP.
- LinX: two 15-day sensors at the tracker price come to about ₹6,900.
You don't have to wear one every month. Many people wear a sensor for two weeks to learn how their meals affect them, then again after a change in food or medicine.
Libre vs Libre 2 Plus: which is better?
The Libre 2 Plus does more for about ₹470 extra per sensor. It sends a reading to your phone every minute without scanning, lasts up to 15 days, and can sound an alarm if sugar goes too low or too high. Abbott launched it in India in August 2025 for adults and children aged 2 and above, including women with diabetes in pregnancy.
The older Libre only gives a reading when you scan the sensor with your phone or the Reader. It doesn't send readings to your phone by itself. If you take insulin or have had lows, the alarms on the 2 Plus are the main reason to choose it.
Is Ultrahuman M1 good for diabetes?
Ultrahuman says no. Its own site says its products 'are not intended for disease management, treatment, or prevention'. It is sold for metabolic fitness, to people who want to see how food and exercise affect them.
If you have diabetes, especially on insulin or tablets that can cause lows, choose a sensor sold for diabetes care and share the data with your doctor.
Is LinX a good CGM?
LinX is a 15-day sensor made by MicroTech and sold in India through online pharmacies. It is usually cheaper per day than Abbott's sensors on price trackers. We found no official LinX price list for India, so check the seller and the pack size carefully.
Is Dexcom available in India?
We found no official Dexcom launch or price in India. The only listings were import resellers, such as a Dexcom ONE starter kit shipped from the UK for about ₹8,238. We found no Indian support channel for imported Dexcom sensors.
Are Stelo, Lingo and Libre 3 sold in India?
- Stelo, Dexcom's over-the-counter sensor: Dexcom's 2026 expansion plan named the UK, Australia, New Zealand and South Korea, not India.
- Lingo, Abbott's wellness sensor: we found no sign it is sold in India.
- FreeStyle Libre 3: Abbott India's site lists only the Libre and Libre 2 Plus.
Do I still need a glucometer with a CGM?
Yes, keep it. ICMR's 2018 guideline calls home finger-prick testing ideal for everyone with diabetes. It says a CGM worn for 5–7 days, or a flash sensor for 14 days, can help in harder cases, such as lows you don't feel. If a sensor reading doesn't match how you feel, check with your glucometer before you act.
Which CGM is right for me?
- On insulin, or you've had lows: Libre 2 Plus, for the alarms.
- Type 2 on tablets, want to learn what your meals do: Libre or Libre 2 Plus for two weeks, or LinX if price matters most.
- No diabetes, curious about food and fitness: Ultrahuman M1 is sold for this.
- Not sure: ask your doctor which one they can read and review with you.
We don't sell any of these sensors through this guide. Prices are as published or listed on the dates above and may change.

What is the CGM price in India per month?
About ₹10,000 a month at MRP for continuous use of either Abbott sensor. LinX works out to roughly ₹6,900 a month at tracker prices, which we couldn't verify against an official list.
Which is the best CGM in India for type 2 diabetes?
If you take insulin or have had lows, the Libre 2 Plus, because it has high and low alarms. If you're on tablets and want to learn how food affects you, the Libre, Libre 2 Plus or LinX for two weeks at a time all work.
Is there a sugar testing machine without blood?
Yes. A CGM reads sugar through a small sensor on your arm for 14 or 15 days, with no finger pricks for routine readings. You should still keep a glucometer to check readings that don't match how you feel.
Is Dexcom available in India?
We found no official Dexcom launch or Indian price. Only import resellers list it.
Can I use Ultrahuman M1 if I have diabetes?
Ultrahuman says its products are not intended for disease management, treatment or prevention. If you have diabetes, choose a sensor sold for diabetes care.
Is the Libre 2 Plus worth the extra cost over the Libre?
For about ₹470 more per sensor at MRP, it gives automatic readings every minute, one extra day of wear and optional alarms. That matters most if you take insulin or tablets that can cause lows.
Does ICMR recommend a CGM?
ICMR's 2018 guideline says a CGM for 5–7 days, or a flash sensor for 14 days, may be used in harder cases such as lows you don't feel. It calls finger-prick home testing ideal for everyone with diabetes.
